Excerpt from Episode 2:

When I was at university I saw somebody using a browser and I thought what’s that there, pictures and I thought. What? You mean you’ve got text and pictures.

Andy: You can actually download a picture.

Rod: Well remember this was the days of Compy Serve and America Online it was, all text it was good. but it was pretty poor really compared to today it was rubbish

Andy: I still remember the day that first downloaded an image online it was a picture of a bike because it was a demonstration site. Imagine if you could buy stuff online. It was look here’s a picture of it to buy it to download.

Simon’s is the MD at Shoothill, he takes the mickey out of me all the time he says you invented LinkedIn with Visual CV. Anyway, I went home that night after college and saw my wife.

I said: “Eleri I’ve seen something that’s going to change the world it’s called the internet people are going to be able to do this and that and the other”.

I was determined, that I was going into the software industry and up until then obviously I tried to join the Navy and get a career there. But I didn’t really know what I wanted to do. I think that’s a I think that’s a lot of people, unfortunately. They either don’t find out what they want to do or they don’t know what they want to do and I think I have always thought that everybody’s good at something, mine might just happen to be software.
