A pint with Mike Davis, Head of IT services at Shoothill
Could you introduce yourself please?
Hi, my name is Mike Davis I’m the newly appointed head of IT services for Shoothill. My aim is simple, to ensure our IT teams give the best service to our customers that’s possible. Outside of work I’m a massive Shrewsbury Town fan, enjoy a few pints in my local and like any other dad battle the everyday task of funding kids and a wife, who loves spending money!
What does your role at Shoothill involve?
I’m here to take the guesswork out of IT and help lead our team of helpdesk and support engineers. I’m usually the first contact for our clients, as I like to understand all our customers’ needs. That way, I know who the best people are within Shoothill’s managed services division to undertake the task. This allows for a seamless link between our specific divisions, so clients always know who they are dealing with.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
I love working with clients and seeing them grow. When we take a complex technical challenge off their plate and turn it into a streamlined solution, it not only empowers them to focus on their core business but also strengthens that sense of trust and partnership. There’s nothing better than hearing a client say, ‘Thanks to Shoothill, we can do more than we ever thought possible.’ That’s when I know we’re not just providing services—we’re making a real difference.
Where would you like to see the IT services division go?
That one’s simple, we aim to be the best of the best. When you look at the long-term success of our software division and some of the projects, they have worked on you realise just how good we are at what we do. That’s the aim now for the newly formed IT managed services division. That’s led from our senior management team all the way through the team.
